Flexible Fire-Resistant Cable

Fire-resistant cables can withstand flame temperatures of 950°C to 1000°C during testing, with a burning duration of 120 minutes. They also meet the fire-resistance performance requirements specified in BS6387:2013—specifically, they maintain circuit integrity after undergoing individual fire tests, as well as combined tests involving fire exposure followed by water immersion and mechanical vibration, conducted sequentially in the order of C, W, and Z on the same cable sample. Thanks to their exceptional fire protection capabilities, these cables are primarily used in high-risk, densely populated areas such as hospitals, shopping malls, office buildings, and luxury hotels, effectively safeguarding both human life and property.

Fire-resistant cable

Fire-resistant cables can withstand flame temperatures of 950°C to 1000°C during testing, with a burning duration of 120 minutes. They also meet the fire-resistance performance requirements specified in BS6387:2013—specifically, simple fire resistance, fire resistance combined with water exposure, and fire resistance combined with mechanical vibration—all tested sequentially on the same sample in the order of C, W, and Z—while maintaining circuit integrity. Thanks to their exceptional fire protection capabilities, these cables are primarily used in high-occupancy areas such as hospitals, shopping malls, office buildings, and upscale hotels, effectively safeguarding both human life and property.

Insulation resistance

The product of insulation resistance (MΩ) and cable length (km) should be no less than 1000 MΩ·km. When the cable length is less than 100 meters, the measured insulation resistance must be at least 10,000 MΩ.

Finished Cable Voltage Testing

For 500V cables, an AC test voltage of 2000V should be applied; for 750V cables, an AC test voltage of 2500V is required. The minimum ramp-up rate must be 150V/s, and each test must last for 15 minutes. The test voltage should be applied as follows:

a. Each conductor is connected in turn to all the other conductors that are linked together;

b. Between all conductors and the copper sheath.

During the test, the cable should not break down.

Insulation resistance

The product of insulation resistance (MΩ) and cable length must be at least 100 Ω·km. When the cable length is less than 100 meters, the measured insulation resistance should not fall below 1000 MΩ.

Power plant testing

For 500V cables, an AC test voltage of 2000V should be applied; for 0.6/1kV cables, the AC test voltage should be 3500V. During the 15-minute AC voltage application, no breakdown should occur. Similarly, when testing an entire reel (or coil), the AC voltage must be applied for 5 minutes without causing any breakdown.

Fire resistance performance

The cable meets the fire-resistance test procedures specified in GB/T 19216.21, with a flame temperature of 950°C to 1000°C and a burning duration of 180 minutes. Additionally, it complies with the fire-performance requirements outlined in BS6387:2013, successfully passing individual fire tests as well as combined tests involving fire exposure, water immersion, and mechanical vibration—conducted sequentially on the same sample in the order of C, W, and Z—while maintaining circuit integrity throughout.
